October ~ Raising Awareness / Celebrity Birthdays
Back in August, I looked up all the official activities of the month. Even though we're about one-third of the way through the month of October, I was curious to see a similar calendar of events and national awareness dates. After browsing a few online sources, following is a partial list of causes for which efforts are underway to heighten awareness during the month of October. Breast Cancer Awareness, Domestic Violence Awareness, Halloween Safety Month, and Positive Attitude Month.
It's also interesting to note famous people born in October. Celebrating birthdays this month are Julie Andrews, Jimmy Carter, Donna Karan, Yo-Yo Ma, Jackson Browne, Jerry Rice, Margaret Thatcher, Zac Efron, John Lithgow, Carrie Fisher, Catherine Deneuve, Kevin Kline, Hillary Clinton, Jaclyn Smith, Bill Gates, and Gavin Rossdale.
The national awareness days are important. The birthdays are just fun facts to know.
